Pool news!

We know how anxious all of you are to get back in the pool, so we are SUPER excited to share the news that after significant lobbying efforts, the Governor earlier today released updated guidelines allowing staffed water recreation facilities to reopen, under restrictions, in the current modified phase one reopening. What this means is that initially, MIBC’s competition pool can be made available for lap swimming.
Now that we finally have authorization to move ahead, our staff will be working hard to put procedures in place to comply with the guidance, as well as physically bring the pool’s boilers back online after several months of shutdown, in careful coordination with our service vendors to ensure they are not damaged in the process. Once the boilers are successfully running, the pool will be brought back to temperature and balanced chemically so it is safe for members to use. When the pool reopens, swimming will be by reservation within allotted lap swim and programming timeframes. We know the pool cannot reopen soon enough, but thank you for your patience as we work through the opening process in this new COVID-19 environment. Please stay tuned for more information!
