A Message from MIBC Aquatics Director
Dear MIBC members:
We are excited to announce our 2017 summer swim lessons program.
This year the swim lessons program has be completely redesigned from the ground up. This new program borrows from the curriculum from other nationally recognized swim programs such as the Red Cross’ Learn to Swim, YMCA Aquatics-USA, and other various aquatics facilities in Washington state.
Swimming is a vital skill, especially in Washington where are surrounded by so many lakes, rivers, and even the Puget Sound. In Washington, drowning is the second leading causes of accidental death in children under 17 years of age. In recent years there has been an average of 50 drownings a year in King County alone. Through water safety education and swim lessons our goal at MIBC is to bring that number down to zero.
For more information about swim lessons visit http://www.mibeachclub.com/activities/aquatics/summer-swim-lessons/ or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
On a related note the pool will be partially closed from 11am-3pm from 6/20-6/22 for pre-summer lifeguard skills review.
